    Look of the Week: The Roaring Twenties–Time for Peace? Time to Party!

     

    It has often been said that history’s most enduring fashion trends always have a tendency to be revived in later decades. This certainly holds true for the Europe’s latest fashion craze for scintillating sequins, long ropes of pearls, feather fascinators, cute cloche hats, and playful fringes sewn onto short hem-lines. In other words, the roaring twenties are making a huge come-back.

    Andreas and Regine Bechtler attended the fund raiser, “Cure by Design” that was hosted by the Presbyterian Cancer Center and the Cancer Society .  The “Society Charlotte” Magazine has a writeup about the event in their May 2013 issue.

    Artwork Opening

    Here is a picture of Regine Bechtler and Rick Lazes next to a piece they collaborated on called “Search for the Impossible”.  The picture was taken during the opening of “The World is Bending” show at the New Gallery of Modern Art.  The 81″ x 48″ x 96″ wood form is made of Walnut and Regine’s ceramic clay sculpture measures 22″ x 12″ x 12″.  The opening was Friday, May 17th, 2013.  The show will be up from May 13th to June 15th.

    Video and Image Gallery for 2013 The Passport for Fashion Show

    Regine Bechtler’s wearable art fashion collection was exhibited at the Passport For Fashion show held on Saturday, April 20th 2013.  The event was held at the NC Music Factory in uptown Charlotte.  Charlotte Seen hosted this event to raise money for Kids Rein.  The show was a big success!  Check out the video and a gallery of photographs of Regine’s collection below.

    Charlotte gallery director is ‘Zen’ with her clothes

    The Charlotte Observer’s Style page dated Thursday, April 11, 2013 features an article about Irina Tashkova, director of the New Gallery of Modern Art.  When asked by the Observer’s fashion reporter do you buy wearable art? Irina replied by saying “I am a big fan of Regine Bechtler’s jackets.  Also, the New Gallery of Modern Art  will be showing off one of Regine’s sculptures at their May opening.  ‘The World Is Bending,’ an exhibition featuring new works by local artist Rick Lazes  on Friday, May 17th, 5-8PM.
